In our family we love soccer. My husband loves soccer, my son loves soccer and hard to admit but I love soccer too. Since my son joined a team I became obsessed with the game and started to cheer on my son’s team. Very quickly I learnt the kids names and become more involved with the club. In one of the games there was an opportunity for me to become the coach, which made me feel extremely proud. Proud that I received an opportunity to share the same passion as my husband and son. After a few games I was offered to become the umpire. Once again, I was extremely excited and nervous at the same time. I was concerned about knowing the rules of the game and ensure I was umpiring fairly. The day came and I have overcome my fears and was doing not to much of a bad job as being the referee.
From this experience, I learnt a lot about how to lead a team through a shared common goal. It doesn’t matter which team you lead and at what age as long as you inspire the team and work on a collective goals you always end up with a winning team.
Leadership is by everywhere and everything you do. The methodology is identical and applicable to all aspects of life.
This video is about everyday leadership, Drew Dudley calls on all of us to celebrate leadership as the everyday act of improving each other’s lives.
